In the town of Purmerend, in the Netherlands, the architects who were commissioned to design a new bridge across the river thought of something new: a double bridge. Thee flat part is better suited for bicycles and wheelchairs; the towering arch is better suited for the pedestrians, and the view from the top makes for the crossing of the bridge to be a pleasant walk rather than a boring one.
At night, both bridges are lit with LED lights, which is bound to attract even more curious passers-by.
